Nokia's entire future depended on the Nokia Lumia 800. This is Nokia's first attempt in winning back their long lost status. This is also their very first Windows Phone device. If you are a big follower of Nokia, then I am sure that you will notice how Nokia tried to stand out in an era where Android handsets and iPhones are ruling the market for today's modern smartphones.

Let's now talk about the phone's design. You do not have to blink twice and yes you are right, the phone's design looks like the only MeeGo handset by Nokia. I am talking about the once famous Nokia N9. The only difference is the Lumia 800 is a bit heavier than the N9. Its actual dimensions are: 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm and it weighs exactly at 142 grams only. The N9's dimensions are: 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1mm and it weighs exactly at 135 grams only. Not to mention that the Lumia 800 comes in with a smaller screen at 3.7" only.

The phone's shell is made out of polycarbonate plastic. But don't be fooled by the word plastic, this is because the phone is quite solid for its built. It comes in with matt-finish that is capable of giving you that premium look and feeling. You get that premium look without the help of fancy aluminum casing.

You will be able to enjoy tube-like rounded edges on this phone. This will give you that comfortable feel and hold. The phone's camera placement is quite smarter than other handsets out there. Your fingers won't hinder with the phone's camera at all. This is the same with the phone's capacitive touch buttons, they all feel natural and your fingers won't end up pressing these buttons by accident.

When it comes to the phone's 3.7 inch screen, you will love how its ClearBlack AMOLED (480 x 800) display is capable of giving you vivid and lively colors. This is also possible without you seeing lurid or dull colors. The phone's high contrast Windows Phone interface blends perfectly into the handset. The phone's excellent viewing angle will simply make you salivate like never before.

Even if this handset is being limited by chassis guidelines for Windows Phone its 480 x 800p resolution is quite decent. Yes it is nothing close to Apple's 690 x 960 screen resolution, but it is quite decent for a Nokia handset.
